Cyborg Booster
The first official booster pack, this one is make for the machines and robots in the city, but that hardly means you can't benefit from it anyway. Check out some of these cool items!
Costume Pieces
See the full listing at Paragonwiki, but here's what the default set looks like.
Individual pieces can work for any kind of armored or partially mechanical character. In the end, there's nothing wrong with extra costume piece options! Also be sure to check out some of the cool Cyborg pack auras!
Emotes
There are three emotes, powerup, robot dance, and powerdown. Here they are as performed by my mastermind and her pets 🙂
Powers
This pack comes with one of the more useful powers in a booster. Self Destruction!
Here are the features of the power:
- It kills you, but you do extreme damage to all nearby enemies and you get no debt from it.
- Others can't Rez you, but you can rez yourself with inspirations or any self-rez powers.
- If you use Self Destruction just before gaining a level and the enemies that die give you enough to level up, you will rez automatically at full life and endurance.
- It takes 10 seconds to launch, but even if you die before it fires, it still works and you get no debt as long as you launch it before you die. Because of this, it makes a very useful emergency power.
- It's a great travel power! You can use it to go to the nearest hospital or your base if you have a medical transporter in your base.
Clearly if you thought of it only as Nova with an absurdly long cooldown period, you weren't thinking outside the box 🙂
Check out this video of Shazel using a cool combo: Inferno, Self Destruction, then Rise of the Phoenix! Too bad there's no tank around to herd up some more enemies because they don't really survive the first two blasts and make it to the third.
Conclusion
Besides great additions for any robotic characters you might have, the Self Destruct power is a way to thumb your nose at any enemies that are about to get the best of you. You get to avoid debt while blasting them at the same time… as long as you launch it before you die.
To that end, here's a quick bind I use to launch the power in an emergency:
/bind end powexec_name self destruction
Then, when in trouble, hit the END key to end it all 🙂
