GvE Item Pack

The Good Versus Evil game edition included some bonus items that they eventually allowed you to buy as an add-on pack. While not as complete as a booster in terms of variety of goodies, at the time (back before several travel improvements), the travel powers in this set were a huge help!

Even now, I use both of these powers on pretty much every character so you might consider getting it yourself.

The Jump Jet Pack

The jump jet is a goofy looking metal thruster that appears on your back when activated. It lasts for 30 seconds and takes 2 and a half minutes to recharge. But it gives you two important advantages.

Jumping

Jump as high as you want!

This power, available from level 1 (unlike some other booster pack powers), lets you get out of holes, jump high walls, and generally move around much faster. There are times it can take several minutes just to run all the way to the right door or ledge when you could just jump straight over the wall if you had the jump jet.

Especially for low-level villains, this has been a lifesaver!

Another advantage is that any of my characters that take Super Speed no longer have to take any other powers to handle vertical movement. If I am traveling through a zone, I can hit the jump pack and jump over anything I run across. It only lasts 30 seconds, but most zones don't take that long to get through 🙂

The only disadvantage to this system is that while jumping with the pack, your vertical control is severely limited and jumping speed lowered. But you get used to it and compensate (or use Ninja Run from the Martial Arts Booster which fixes it).

Fly Speed

Fly speed boost for all types of fly

Any time you're flying, turning on the jump jet increases the speed drastically (up to the fly speed cap). In this picture, there's only 4 mph increase in speed, but that's because she got capped by her current level's fly limit. It makes a huge difference at lower levels and even 30 seconds of a few more mph saves you a lot of cumulative time (and I love to save travel time).

Also consider that when using powers like hover, the jump jet takes you to nearly fly speeds!

Pocket D Teleporter

Curious...

Have you ever been in Pocket D and wondered what that goofy door is there for? Well that's the Tiki lounge! An exclusive club that only the high-and-mighty can enter 😀

Inside, you'll find a room with a Tiki theme that's kind of cool for screenshots, but also has a bartender who sells inspirations. That by itself is not such a big deal since there are other people in PD that sell them that aren't behind exclusive doors, but there is a tailor so you can change your costume straight away if you feel the urge.

Inside, a nice environment and occasionally live entertainment!
If someone's dancing with a better outfit than you, you can fix that!

The most important advantage to tiki room access is that with the GVE pack, you get a teleporter power that will take you from anywhere in the game (outdoors, in missions, in any zone) and drop you right in the tiki lounge!

Pocket D has a lot of amenities and now with the teleporter, you can instantly reach any of them (the vault, the arena, the superbase portal, and a place to buy inspirations). And of course as a quick-travel hub to various zones, using the teleporter can cut your travel time down to any zone that's hard to reach in other ways (Mercy Island and Faultline for instance).

Costume Pieces

I generally don't get too excited about costume pieces (depending on what they are) and especially when there aren't that many involved. Here you get two sets; Justice and Sinister. Both are pretty decent and come with some variations, but I haven't used them much. Usually just one piece here or there to augment other costumes.

At the very least, these kick butt on some of the veteran reward costume sets 😛

Conclusion

Time is valuable and travel time is generally wasted. The city may be nice, but after 2 or 3 hundred trips, there's nothing to see (something hopefully they'll find a way to fix someday). Therefore, with two powers here that save a lot of time (especially at the low levels), this pack is well worth the money.
