Exemplaring (or Malefactoring for Villains) is a tool in CoH/V to allow high level characters to artificially drop their own level down to that of a teammate so that they can play together even if they are vastly different levels.
To do it, the low level character must select a higher level teammate and choose “Exemp” or “Mal” from the team window (or alternatively from the menu that pops up when you right-click on them)
With super-sidekicking, any time you are teamed with someone, you are automatically the level of the leader (if you are the same or higher level natuarally) or one level below if you are lower than their level.
